| Description |
Our client is searching for a Senior Buyer to be responsible for supporting procurement strategy within an overall category management structure. Delivers improvement in P&SC service to the business in accordance with agreed world class procurement strategy and business plans.
Acts as a role model of professional procurement practice, delivering high quality solutions to meet the needs of the organisation.
Company-wide Responsibilities
ï‚§ Develops relationships with stakeholders to understand the needs of the business and maintains appropriate stakeholder maps.
ï‚§ Liaises proactively with stakeholders to identify opportunities to promote the work of P&SC.
ï‚§ Participates in and supports procurement transformation throughout the company, by working with stakeholders and responding to any issues or suggestions relating to the category.
Procurement Responsibilities
ï‚§ Supports the Senior Procurement Manager in the development of category strategies.
ï‚§ Develops, maintains and communicates the preferred supplier and approved product/service lists for the benefit of the company.
 Plans and carries out activities that drive towards Procurement & Supply Chain’s progress toward World Class Procurement.
ï‚§ Develops in sourcing and out sourcing strategies for selective products/services and suppliers.
ï‚§ Conducts supply market research to identify influences on category strategy.
ï‚§ Prepares and issues the appropriate documentation relating to e-auctions or other competitive bidding processes.
 Maximises the company’s purchasing power to improve its competitive edge and to deliver best value.
ï‚§ Follows and implements processes and procedures as required that ensure improved procurement performance in a timely and effective manner.
ï‚§ Creates, and maintains supplier relationship management (SRM) tools and processes to reduce commercial risk and ensure supplier relationships are developed.
ï‚§ Monitors and reports on activities and provides relevant management information.
ï‚§ Supports finance and senior management in cost containment processes and revenue generation.
ï‚§ Manages supplier contracts to meet the business needs using robust contracting.
ï‚§ Regularly meets with key internal customers to understand their issues or concerns and seeks to improve procurement practice.
ï‚§ Collects and analyses data relating to supplier performance to aid supplier development and/or contract award.
ï‚§ Prepares and collects data relating to service level agreements and contract performance measures.
ï‚§ Manages the use OneCard spend across the business and appropriate suppliers.
ï‚§ Develops supplier and stakeholder communications on a broad range of issues as directed by the Senior Procurement Manager and Senior Management Team.
ï‚§ Undertakes activities with suppliers and stakeholders that improve compliance to procurement processes (e.g. P2P, e-auction, and catalogue purchases).
ï‚§ Supports the on-time delivery of goods and services through effective working with suppliers and stakeholders.
ï‚§ Maintains stakeholder and communication plans on behalf of the category teams.
ï‚§ Produces the appropriate performance metrics as determined by the Senior Procurement Manager and Senior Management Team.
ï‚§ Uses Ariba sourcing to conduct supply market research, competitive bidding analysis, evaluation etc.
ï‚§ Conducts procurement activity in accordance with stated ethics and CSR policies.
Leadership and Management Responsibilities
ï‚§ Takes ownership of specific tasks/projects as directed by the Senior Procurement Manager.
ï‚§ Develops and maintains own Personal Development Plan.
ï‚§ Uses appropriate behaviours and attributes to support team building and collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience:
ï‚§ Has the stated proficiency levels in procurement attributes identified as key for the role.
ï‚§ Has experience of managing data and producing performance analysis.
ï‚§ Has experience of managing communications across multiple business functions.
ï‚§ Has experience of conducting successful negotiations.
Salary circa 40k
