Title Head of Finance Operations
Role RecruitGibraltar are currently helping our client who is a market leading financial services company who has a great opportunity for a Head of Finance Operations to report to the Financial Director. The company is a progressive and ambitious company who has a policy of promoting from within and has a dedication to professional training and progression.

This is a key finance role reporting directly into the FD with a total of 11 finance people below them, either reporting directly into them or indirectly. Ideally you will be a qualified accountant who is ambitious and wants to enhance their professional development. The individual would also require to have great communication skills as they will have to deal extensively with clients and the relationship management team, travelling occasionally.

Responsibilities:

All reporting to client activity to the Board and Senior Management including deliverables for the Management Information Pack.
Assisting in Internal and External Audit Process.
Assisting with the annual review of ICAAP document.
Training and mentoring of staff, many of whom are studying Accountancy qualifications.
Monthly analysis of customer reconciliations.
Maintenance of procedures documentation for all tasks.
Timely and accurate month end.
Oversee the Reconciliation Team Manager and provide managerial cover as required.
Ensure that settlements to MasterCard and Visa for card transactions are made daily, including forecasting of the same for Bank Holidays.
Client bank accounts are reconciled daily and customer funds are properly segregated in accordance with regulations.
Customer queries responded to within agreed SLAs.
Reports are prepared and stored securely to support reconciliations and meet data protection requirements.
Chargebacks / disputes processed promptly and settlement obtained.
Primary finance contact for the reconciliation software including on-going testing, implementation and business as usual operations.
Manage the set-up of all new programs, including flow of funds and data.
Leading finance meetings with clients.
Full review of customer, float and settlement GL accounts to ensure an accurate Statement of Financial Position.
Financial due diligence on clients.
Streamlining and automating processes for more efficient working.


Experience:

Ideally fully qualified Accountant althougn part qualified with solid experience considered.
Experience in a role that included management of staff
Confidence in making recommendations to Management for improvements to systems / processes
Proven experience in a Financial Services Environment
Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
Strong problem solving skills displaying creative solutions
Experience of managing a diverse multi-national team
Oracle knowledge preferred
Understanding of European and Banking Regulations, as well as reporting to US GAAP would be an advantage

Salary circa 45k - 55k based on experience.
